Important Locations

These are the important locations featured within The Hill Clans territory.

The Hills

The Hills are where the Clans are located. The territory is, as the name implies, very hilly and rarely will a cat find they are on completely flat ground the further they travel from the lakeshore. The surrounding forests are mostly comprised of deciduous forest, specifically of the oak-hickory variety. The large lake in the middle often fluctuates in depth from newleaf to leaf-bare, but rarely overfills and never dries up. The weather of the Hills is temperate, with hot, dry greenleafs and cold, icy leaf-bares. Rarely does it snow enough to cause complete white-outs, and ice storms are more common than snowstorms. Every greenleaf, the warm weather causes an abundance of thunderstorms, which can lead to forest fires. Tornadoes, while a possible threat, have never been experienced by the Clan cats and is only a myth spread by outsiders who have witnessed one elsewhere.

StreamClan

StreamClan's territory is located on the southern shore of the lake, comprising both forest and field as well as the lakeshore. Multiple small streams criss-cross through StreamClan's territory, swelling with rain and completely drying up with droughts. StreamClan's camp is located in the carved out remains of a dried out riverbed, one that hasn't filled with water since before the Clans claimed the empty territories. They are the closest to Half-Moon Island. The border between StreamClan and BreezeClan is the Thunderpath.

BreezeClan

BreezeClan's territory is located on the eastern shore of the lake, mostly made up of field with small copses of trees here and there. Bordering StreamClan as well is the Thunderpath, though an offshoot mostly taken by large, flat-backed monsters exists within the territory as well. BreezeClan makes their camp within one of the many copses of trees on the territory, their vulnerable members shaded by oak trees and protected by bushes.

LeafClan

LeafClan's territory is located on the western shore of the lake, comprised entirely of forested area, though some clearings do exist. The forest floor of LeafClan's territory is filled with thorny bramble bushes. LeafClan is the closest to the Star Tree, but their camp is furthest from Half-Moon Island. LeafClan's camp is located within a tightly-packed group of trees with thick woven bramble dens. The medicine cat den is a hollowed out rock, while the leader's gathering spot is the fallen log which rests upon it.

Half-Moon Island

Half-Moon Island, despite the name, is where the Clan cats assemble every full moon for Gatherings. The way to the island is a thick, fallen oak log, wide enough for cats to safely traverse without having to worry about falling into the cold lake water. Leaders sit on the middle branches of the evergreen trees, while deputies and medicine cats take up the lower branches. It is named more for its shape than its purpose.

The Star Tree

The Star Tree is a tall, permanently leafless tree located within LeafClan territory. Medicine cats travel to the Star Tree to commune with StarClan and conduct their half-moon meetings. Leaders will also travel here to receive nine lives. While cats usually climb higher into the branches of the Star Tree to get a stronger connection to StarClan, falling asleep even inside of the hollow base of the tree will allow those with the ability to connect to StarClan to do so. Medicine cats of LeafClan periodically travel to the Star Tree to line the hollow inner base with moss, providing not only a place for those who do not wish to or cannot climb to have a comfortable place to rest, but a place for traveling spirits who might appreciate a comfortable nest on their travels.
